Frequently Asked Questions

How much freezer space should you have?

The rule of thumb is one cubic foot of freezer space for every 35 – 40 pounds of packaged meat. A quarter of beef will easily fit into a 5 -7 cubic foot chest freezer. A half beef needs about 8 cubic feet and whole beef needs around 16 cubic feet.

Need a freezer? Here's a good place to start!

What is the different between All Natural Registered Angus and All Natural Angus?

The difference in buying our All Natural Angus beef vs All Natural Registered Angus beef is Registered Angus are governed by the American Angus Association and per their qualifications, the association distinguishes registered cattle as 100% purebred.  When breeding purebred animals, we are able to monitor and cross their genomics in a way to utilize their marbling and protein content to "create" exquisite cuts of beef!

You can consider Registered Angus to be more like Prime graded beef, this is why the price point per pound is around $2.00 more.  This beef has controlled superior intramuscular fat content, keeping it in high demand.  Most Prime beef is sold by upscale restaurants and fine beef purveyors, and is produced from young, well-fed beef cattle.

Don't get confused, our All Natural Angus beef is certainly the way to go if you aren't looking to pay the extra bucks.  We keep all of our cattle in the same controlled, stress-free environment and give them quality attention throughout their life-span.

How long does it take to process my order?

We age our beef for 21 days.  This in turn makes YOUR beef taste that much more tender, juicier, and well basically - just better!

E-mail us at PreciseCattle@gmail.com to see when the next beef is available for the quantity you have chosen (whole, half or quarter).

When do I pick up my order?

Once your order form has been submitted online and your payment has been received, we schedule your order for pick up.  Turn around time is roughly THREE weeks for half and whole beef.  Quarter beef usually takes ONE-TWO weeks time from order date to pick up. *Subject to change based upon demand*

What is drive thru barn pick-up?

Upon entering the gates of Precise Cattle, follow the driveway (stay to the right) down to our barn and drive your vehicle through our roll up door!  We will then load your beef and you can drive out and be on your way!

We suggest bringing 4 coolers for whole beef, 3 for half beef and 2 for quarter beef - IF you live more than 30 miles away.  We supply the ice.

If you are picking up Beef Packages, please  schedule an appointment online after purchasing a package for barn pick up.  We are open during the week and on weekends.

If you are ordering a whole, half or quarter beef, your appointment will be scheduled for you with the ability to change it no earlier than the previously scheduled date.

Can I schedule beef orders for a future date?

Yes!  Please let us know when you would like to schedule your whole, half or quarter beef order.  As long as we receive your order form and deposit, we can schedule you as far as three months out!

Is our beef grass finished or grain finished?

The Angus breed is known for superior marbling (fat content) to obtain flavorful, juicy beef.  In order to establish this aspect, something other than grass has to be introduced into their diet.

Our nutritionist has supplied us with a personal, healthy regimen to feed out our cattle.  What is included in the grain we use?  We though you'd never ask!

  • Soy bean hull pellets
  • Cracked corn
  • Dried grain
  • Peanut hull pellets
  • Cottonseed hulls
  • Pure cane molasses

So yes, we grain feed our cattle responsibly at the end of their lifespan.
